Standard Roofing is committed to a strong Health and Safety Program that protects staff, property, the environment, and the general public from incidents.

Safety takes form when employees at every level, including management, take ownership for the company's overall health and safety initiatives. It is our belief that commitment and participation by everyone, everyday, in every job is necessary to maintain health and safety among all workers.

Management has created an atmosphere within the company that working safely is an expectation and provides the necessary equipment and training to support this culture. Employees are responsible for following all procedures, working safely, and whenever possible improving health and safety measures.

Under our Safety Program:

  • Employees are required to complete our company safety orientation program and WHIMIS as well as have up to date training in First Aid, Fall Protection, etc.
  • We employ a full time Safety Professional who provides training and education and monitors our job sites to ensure all employees are working in compliance with our safety program and provincial standards.
  • In addition we hold a valid COR (Certificate of Recognition). This is a voluntary program that operates through the combined efforts of the Workers Compensation Board - Alberta, Alberta Employment & Immigration, and the Alberta Construction Safety Association. As such we conduct annual safety audits designed to monitor and measure the effectiveness of our safety program. The results of these audits are also forwarded to the above agencies for their review.

Safety is our priority. As a result Standard Roofing proudly maintains one of the lowest WCB rates for our industry.
